Established in 1883, Humax are one of the oldest peat and compost companies in the UK. Highly active within the professional grower market, we have a great reputation in formulating specialist growing media. It is this expertise and knowledge of professional formulations that have aided the development of a full range of retail products for the consumer market.
Humax is the 4th largest producer in the UK, supplying 22% of UK produced growing media. Based in Gretna in the North of England, we also work four other sites throughout Scotland. Solway Moss in Carlisle is the oldest peat extraction site in the world and has recently enjoyed significant investment in technology and machinery to improve production and quality.
We take the purpose and performance of our products very seriously.
