Humax Scoops the Double!
Growing media and compost specialists, Humax Horticulture, have scooped top awards at two
major trade events for their Organic Fruit and Vegetable Bag range. At Four Oaks they were awarded Best New Product (Retail) and Best Product Overall, closely followed at this week’s Glee with Best New Product (Garden).
Managing Director at Humax, Jonathan Cox commented, “This is fantastic news for us. We’ve worked incredibly hard to get this product right and off the ground. For it to be received by the industry in this way is a great pat on the back for the team. We’ve had a great response from customers and a number of enquiries from new business, so the shows have proved an ideal showcase for us”.
Glee Judge, Caroline Owen of Scotsdale Garden Centre, said the product won because it, “encourages growing your own fruit and vegetables – an expanding market and key to core garden centre business. It obviously meets a consumer need and breaks down barriers by getting younger people gardening”.
As handy-sized, ready-to-use packs, the bags can be positioned conveniently on patios, balconies or in small gardens and are filled with organic growing media that provide the perfect growing conditions for each of the crops
The extended range includes a total of ten organic bags, with specific formulas for Tomatoes, Carrot and Root Crop, Peas and Beans, Peppers and Chilli, Onion Garlic & Leek, Marrow & Cucumber, Sweetcorn, Strawberries, Potatoes and Salad Crop
